For small projects, 50% of the estimated fee must be provided prior to beginning work, with the remaining payment due upon completion of the project. The second payment is required upon the halfway point, with the final third due upon completion of the project.
Yes. My web design and development service includes basic SEO work. Basic SEO includes submission of your site to the major search engines. Additionally, your site is built from the ground up with search engine friendly technologies and methods.
I give as much latitude as we possibly can. After you’ve identified the general format and color schemes of your preferred design, we’ll complete up to 2 rounds of major revisions at no charge. All minor revisions are provided at no charge.
Absolutely! In fact, I encourage it. I build your website on our development server, and provide you a link so you can monitor the progress of your site. During this phase, I encourage your feedback if something isn’t quite the way you envisioned it or if you’ve changed your mind. Once your site is ready and you have provided your approval, I release it live on your server and submit your URL to the major search engines.
The length of time it takes to create a fully functional website is based on several factors. Custom design work can take anywhere from 1 – 4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design and the number of revisions you require. The development phase requires an additional 1 – 6 weeks, depending on the number of pages, and the functionality required. Of course, these are general guidelines, and we will make every effort to meet the timeframe you have in mind.
All of the websites I create are powered by a content management system that allows the owner or staff to update general copy. And depending on your needs, I can also provide additional functionality, such as blogs, news, calendars, portfolios, etc, that allow more sophisticated updates. All websites come with a “how to guide” which give you help for updating your own content.
I prefer working with small businesses, local folks, as they need the most help. Also this is my political commitment, I am not supporting corporations what cause more suffering in the world.
The short answer: Our prices depend on so many factors, it’s impossible to say in one sentence. Avoid any web developer who can answer this question without a long talk.
The long answer: To get a better idea of the cost of what you want to build, give us a quick phone call. I’ll ask you a few questions about the nature of the site, what sort of interactivity the site will have, your graphic design needs, etc. Then I’ll be able to give you a ballpark figure. If you’re still interested, I’ll come to your place of business and come up with a firm quote.
My ballpark pricing list please see here.
What you see on the screen may not be what you get back from the printer! Most monitor manufacturers do not sell their monitors with color printing in mind. They are often very bright for improved readability. Keep in mind, if absolute color matching is key to your next print project – consider offset printing with Pantone colors. Monitor calibration is not fool proof, it will just be a step in the right direction for getting better results in your printed material. Click here to calibrate your monitor now.

Yes, you will able to follow on Google Analitics how many people come to your website (that record every visitor to the site and which pages they view) and produce a detailed (nearly 40 pages) report of activity at the site. It contains the number of visitors, the pages that were viewed, which order the pages were most commonly viewed in and which keyword phrases were used to drive that traffic.
Much like getting a new phone number and waiting for the phone books to print the new directory with the number listed, search engines need time to “publish” a new database that includes your site. Due to our successful strategies for marketing your site, the dominant search engines, Google, bing! and Yahoo will normally pick up a site in a few months. The site may not rank highly at first, but can be found for your company name for instance. Ranking at the top of the results can take over a year depending on the search engine. Google in particular performs strangely at times. We have documented them ranking a site on the first page of the results as quickly as two months, only to have them push the site back to page three or four for the remainder of a year. Google also appears to favor older domains, seemingly penalizing newly registered domains.
To make your site first on the google ranking takes time and work.
I’ll work with you until you’re happy. I will discuss your design preferences before ever starting on your website’s design. I will ask you about colors, the mood of the site, goals for the site, who your customers are and for a couple of websites that you think are appealing so that we can get a sense of what you like.
Based on all of that information, I will create a mockup of a design and submit it to you for feedback. You will have an opportunity to request changes, and discuss options. I want you to be thrilled with your website so we will work to create a design that you are happy with.
